Has everyone been happy with frontosa?

Burundi fronts have been on the market the longest. Juvies around 2" sell for as low as $5 each. Karillanis can demand $15-$25 each for 2 inchers. Mpimbwe juvies will run you roughly $35 each. Moba juvies can run $65 for F1s to $45 for F2/3 generations.

yeah I've seen the prices but they all look similar so is there a major difference in color/attitude? I imagine f0 colors will be better but any reason to spring for the mpimbwe vs. burundi. I could get burundi's for $5.00 a peice or f1 3" mpimbwe for around $20.00 a peice. Zaires are $35.00 a peice(f1's I think), but maybe get better quality fish and get less?

If they look the same and act the same and only difference is bragging rights then of course I'd just get the burundi.

Never saw the big deal with fronts till I saw a colony of wc kapampas, now its just a matter of time till I get my hands on some.

Prices really vary by location, I've seen F1 Moba go for $30 a pop(not often sometimes less for quanity) from local breeders. If your not going WC try to find a local breeder they will give you the best deal for the money and you know you can get quality fish.

A site I'll recommend for Frontosa is cyphos.com, hate to post about another forum but you'll probably find much more info there being dedicated to fronts. Search thier pictures to find good examples of the color of different varients.

Personally I like mpimbwe and moba.

yeah but I never knew if it was lighting or not. Because I've seen some good looking burundi and some that look like sh$t.

The difference is not so much from lighting as it is from pH. Fronts can survive in below neutral conditions. But, it'll cost in color. The closer they are to their natural 8.3+ pH, the more intense will be the blue they display.

My ph is really close to that... I am trying to find out with type of Front I have... I got him a while ago and forgot where I put his info... to many fish to remember it all
