You might be ok, but I wouldn't want to try it personally. Watch for jumping with hatchets, even the smallest hole is enough for them to commit suicide.
it worked, but eventually the cray started praying on other fish, so i had to let it go. fish and lobsters/crayfish arent always the best companions for fish, but i think hatchets might work, if there is no easy way for it to sit and ambush the top portion of the tank

should be no problem at all... I have hatchets with my cray, no problem. The sleep at the surface, almost never go more than an inch or so below the surface.
I had a crab catch a Needlefish which never ventured into the bottom half of my 75. I don't know how he caught him. However, I did see that crab jump and swim to the top of a 20 to catch a piece of shrimp so it's possible. Crays can't jump but they are good climbers.
