but the eggs are in a state called Cryptobiosis, its when all metabolic functions completely stop.
they can remain in this state for several years while in dry oxygen-free conditions, even at temperatures below freezing.
yes, right, well, I keep my brine shrimp in a big 1.5L beaker where there is also some algae growing. I have sort of a microcosm sort of thing going on. I just siphon out a few babies or eggs when I need them.
i still got them alive in my tank after two months of me stop on putting frozen brine in the tank. my set up is a 40g breeder and 110g aquaclear and i do 30percent water change every week.

It's such a small amount, it gets very diluted once in your tank and concentrations will naturally diminish with water changes anyway.

Then, once I've sucked up most of the shrimp out of my "transfer jug"and fed them/froze them, pour the remaining water back into the hatchery and get it bubbling again.
Next day take another harvest. By this time more of the eggs will have hatched. I found you can do this one more time before you get nothing in return, giving you 3 days of fresh bbs for each hatching you do. Give it a try and let me know your results.

yeah I was really dissapointed in the san fransico hatchery I bought for 10.00 bucks.its the simple kit that says JUST ADD WATER! well i added watwer and waited like 24-36 hours ang only got a few babies so I think im gonna have to try abterre kit huh?Any suggestions?

Well, the set up I'm using shown here cost very little money and a bit of time and has worked every time (and it's satisfying to make something yourself). The only problem I've encountered was using out of date packets of bbs eggs/salt mix (sometimes referred to as "Artemia Mix"). As you can see, I use Sera brand mix, and it works great...24hrs to shrimp time!
