man this entire time I thought the op name was knifegirl,,,so I was picturing a meal worm cleavage thing going on and it left me so odd feeling inside,,,,,now I hear its a dude. What am I worried about my snakes for with the ladies if this guys got a pet maggot on his chest.

My wife doesn't entirely approve, but she has to let me get away with something now and then, even if it is a tummy grub. Grub. Maggots are fly larvae, grub(s?) are beetle larvae.

Worry about the snakes. On a creepy factor, snakes pull an easy 9 while tiny bugs are more like a 5.

Wife says,"Grub on tummy = 10 on juvenile factor."

seriously dude,you dont need to put that much care into it.
sometimes i dont feed my colony any veggies or fruits for weeks and theyre totally fine.
and they lay eggs in the oats too.
