both Duanes and Jason know their stuff when it comes to the haits.
I loved the f1's and f2's Jason was growing out, his dominant male is one of the nicest I have seen.

Jason, is the pair you are talking about that produced fry right now from that original dominant male?

how risky is it to ship these fish? and are you guys able to keep any bottom dwellers with your full grown specemins?
 
My female went from about 2", to about 8" in a year, but then slowed considerably.
She first spawned at only 4"-5".
I was doing 30%-40% water changes every day or at least every other day, all things considered, these seemed contribute more to growth than anything else.
 
Wow pretty fast growth mine have grown very slow, but feed very minimal. My female is worse then the male.
Im having trouble pairing them out male is about an inch bigger at 5 inch and when I pull divider they lip lock for a while then she backs him out to his side and wont let him come past the mid point of the tank lol. Its a six foot tank. And he seems scared of her lol
 
My female was the same, much more macho than the male.
In fact she either directly killed, or stressed 4 males to death, before finding the male she accepted.
