  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am hoping pics will be posted within the week. Still can't believe this has become a reallity. The truth though I want to get this home more than you want pics.

i think i want move in with you guys! a zoo and aquarium im starting to feel jittery like a kid again! lol...

The thing that will be hardest to live will be waiting until we have a place toset it up.
I want to build a shop like building justfor the fish tanks. We are starting to have a little sucsess selliing fish so the shop find of seems the next step.would love to be able to supply large quantity of fish to fish stores. The ideas just keep whirling around. My wife would like to use a tank like this to display various fish in the zoo kind of agree with her.

I'd go for the gold, brother!

I get the picture and agree grab it.
I did the math before and got 1700g but did it again and come up with1450. If I remember right dimensions are 12ft. by 4ft by 4ft but I could be wrong. It is glass and the shop owner says we can move the whole thing with a forklift and set it on a flat deck trailer. We are about 90 miles away so it is not that far my fear is wintering it here in Alberta placing it will require building a fish house or addition to the house ideas we have already had with our fish setup.

Storage is my concern.

We certainly weren't ready for our big tank. It was stored in a storage unit for one year until the addition to our house had progressed to the point that we could move the stand and tank in. A 12' x 4' x 4' tank is not going to fit through any standard door opening. You need to consider that when designing your fish house or addition. If you plan on moving the tank through a door opening, you will need a garage door, sliding door, French doors or something like that. Or you could get the tank in through an opening in the wall, before the wall is finished. That was how we got our stand and tank in.

BTW, we are currently in year three of our big tank upgrade. Sometimes things don't happen as fast as we want them to. Life can get in the way.

Glass? Wow!

That thing is going to weigh a ton!...literally, it will weigh around 2,000lbs give or take depending on the thickness of the glass.

Our acrylic tank weighed over 2,000 pounds. I bet that glass tank weighs considerably more...

I believe Bill isn't lying about the tank. I've seen his farm/fish room before. I would get it if I were you, Bill. I inquired about getting a 12' x 4' x 3' tank made here in Calgary for 3x what you'll pay for the entire set up.

$3,000 is ridiculously dirt cheap. In the USA it would be closer to $30,000.

I think it could take years to do what we want to do. Plan is to build aseperate building close to the houseso we can use town water and our sewage lagoon for plumbing. Borrowed a trailer tohaul the beast today so early this week pick up should occur.
