have anyone else felt this way

Yeah I actually took down all 8 of my tanks for about 4 month, and now I only have 3 tanks running my 75 - 55 - and 29.. ha And I dont even have fish in my 55. I'm still kind of losing interest too. I just got and oscar a little bit ago, oscars are my alltime favorite fish, hes been keeping me interested. My lifestyle has just changed, I'm busier, and I think that's the main reason I kind of lost interest.

to me i have reached that point but i still feel it one thing that i think helps is me breeding fish. Not as a pro(i am) but just experiencing it it gives u something to look forward to try doing the easiest fish to breed first which would be guppys and do this guppy/molly platy swordtail then u can go from easy egg laying fish to harder its always a chalenge to keep them but it does giver u something to look forward to but getting new fish another tank would be good what the best thing to me personaly i like planted aquariums but thats me also to me i always want fish even if ive already ahve them before.

thats why. you got a nice size tank with a boring stock. drop in a gar/bichirs/aro/ray etc

Try breeding something my boy. Big cichlids or something. Try to grow an umbie pair to its full potential or something. I got rid of all my fish and now i just have a paor of ODOs and love them. Had them since fry.

I've had slumps too. I'm in one now. In the last 2 months I lost:
Rainbowfish (jaw rot, never improved despite aggressive treatment)
Dario Loach (ich/death spiral, euthanized)
Flash Pleco (unknown causes)
Firebelly Toad (unknown causes)
Hillstream Loach (unknown causes)
Leopard Ctenopoma (my baby, somehow got lodged under the filter and broke his spine, euthanized)
And they are not related. The deaths were too spaced apart, and most were in different tanks.
And I'm not gonna lie and say that I haven't seriously considered packing all my fish up and going to Shark Aquarium... Although I am not going to do that, I almost did.

I think everyone goes through it. I have a few times. Starting up a new tank is always the way I pull my self through...Now I have Five tanks running and still not enough space to keep all the species I would like to!

Yea, I get real irritated when I have to deal with random aggression in my cichlid tank. Ive had the tank up and running with the same in habitants for the last for months, its not over stocked, but every now and then they get into it and one will die or get seriously injured.

That sort of thing just gets old. I suppose I could go to a comminity tank and never worry about it again, but I love cichlids.

Im just getting over a slump. I downsized to one tank and 5 fish. I did regular maintenance for about a year and now am catching the bug again. Id say just take a break. It seems like if you get really into fish the slump will hit hard and longer so im just going to try to occupy a small amount of my time and thoughts with fish to try avoid a future slump.
