Have you ever haggled at a fish store?

Depends on what I'm buying.. If its pretty pricey the ill offer or ask if they will take a certain price. If I'm buying more than 1 ill ask jokingly buy 3 get. 1 free? Most of the time I get a deal. It also helps I've been going there for the last 22 years so they know me & know I don't mind spending money lol.
 
I always haggle over the price when i am spending a lot of money. Besides most fish stores mark up 300 percent so If i spend good deal of money In that store I expect being a frequent customer they should take care of me

This. *puts on flame suit* People seem proud of getting a deal from a non chain LFS and they wonder why they're going out of business? If the prices are fair, I'll pay them. If they're too high, the store won't last long either way. If I wanted to save money I'd buy online instead of supporting the local places. Yes the stores mark up but they don't do it to rip off customers. Its a tough business to be in and every penny counts. Just my two cents..

Yep, the only time I "work a deal" is if i'm trading in fish. because i'de rather walk out w/ another fish then store credit. Best "deal" I got was they replaced a "non guarantee" fish for me when I mentioned it died less then 24 hours of getting it home and was looking for another one. I buy my live food from them so I usually get a few extras every time ect.. The only time I "haggle" is on trade-ins because most big fish are ridiculously priced even at the good places.
 
Im a constant haggler. I will literally bid on or haggle on the price of anything lol. Omly thing I wont haggle on is something in a chain store. Even if its like a $1 difference I will still do it just because I can
 
i never haggled for fish. I go to only non-chain lfs, compared the price from the fish I see for sale online, or at chain store, My lfs is still cheaper. however if there is a price mark-up then maybe ask for a slightly price change
 
I just ask what the lowest they will take is and surprisingly it is usually lower than what I would have offered.
