Have you ever lost a fish?

one of my BGK went missing a couple months ago:/
guessing my silver aro or one of the bichirs got it although the other one (the smaller of the two) is still around

when i was a kid i used to catch frogs and turtles and stuff and a lot of times id keep em in a tank for a night or 2. had a bullfrog knock the top off once even though it was duct taped down and found em under an old couch like 3 years later.

as far as fish i have a peacock eel that i didn't see for about 6 months and he just randomly popped back up

I lost a large crayfish which was somehow able to escape a fully covered tank. It has probably been around 6 - 8 months now and I have never found it or "smelled" dead rotten meat odor from it!

It would be cool if it somehow just showed back up in the 20 long like it burried itself in the subtrate for the winter and is doing a hibernation type thing! Wishful thinking!

I have lost last week a baby Green Terror out of no where,I found the skull. So it may of died of natural causes, because my 10 inch oscar didn't eat it.

I lost a goby once. Found it three weeks later still alive in my canister filter. Introduced him back to the tank and it's doing fine now. Bossy as ever!

I know this happened once with one of my early tanks, but I can't remember who I lost.

If I've had any fish vanish in the past few years, I can't tell you because I didn't notice. But recently I have yet to go looking for a fish I've bought, researched and talked about to find it gone.

I have an albino BN Plec in my cichlid tank that vanishes for months on end. If your patient enough u can sit in the dark and might catch a glimpse of him.

I once drained a tank to move it to another part of the house, stripped it down and took all ornaments out. Just damp gravel in the bottom for 2 days. Only fish I couldnt take out were 2 amino shrimps I'd assumed had been consumed by its tanks mates. Anyway refilled and added all back, 2 weeks later there they are large as life cleaning away on a piece of bogwood.

Anytime something vanishes I assume it has been eaten.
Sometimes there are small clues but usually in a tank with many varied sized fish some simply vanish.
Especially if you have an RTC ;)

I bought 3 clown loaches(back in the 90's), put them in a 40 gallon and never saw them again. Never found bodies(inside or outside). So, yes last time I saw them was when I put the net in the tank.

^ Strangest fish thing ever for me.

Also just recently my 4inch Red tailed shark disappeared but I have lots of hiding places for a dead body to rot.
