Have You Seen This Monkey?

A rare species of monkey was stolen from Palm Beach Zoo early Monday morning.A zookeeper discovered the one pound monkey missing and the mesh on the enclosure appeared to have been cut open.

The female Goeldi's monkey is on a special diet and is also in need of prescribed medication for an inflammatory condition.

Apparently this Amazonian species commands an extremely high price in the black market pet trade....up to ten thousand dollars.

Hopefully they track the rare monkey down before it died from being stolen from the zoo. You would think that the zoo would have inserted some kind of tracking device in the Monkey.

Very cute monkey. If anything does happen to her before they retrieve her, I hope it is something like this scenario:
Person steals monkey.
Sells monkey to rich criminal.
Monkey gets sick.
Rich criminal wants to kick the ath of the person who sold them a $10,000 sick monkey.

It would be amusing if nothing else.


In all seriousness though, that poor monkey. I hope they're able to find her quickly and punish the thief.

It turns out that the monkey has been implanted with some kind of chip but I am not sure how effective it could be in locating her.
