Probably just an RFID chip, same as used in cats and dogs. I know a lot of people seem to think they're GPS locators and the government implants them in people to track their movements and read their minds, etc.

They just said on the news here that the monkey was actually returned last night, so it's back safe. They also said they have no idea why someone took and then returned it. I'm guessing whoever took it probably didn't think it would get national attention so when it did they just freaked and returned it.
Very good,I didnt see that.Maybe they learned of her special dietary and medical needs and decide she wasn't worth the hassle.
So someone essentially "borrowed" a monkey for a bit? Why on earth would anyone need to borrow a monkey?
