I think the garlic trick is working.
fed him last night and this morning, both time he went straight to the shrimp very quickly. however, I still need to back away from the tank after I drop in the food.
How to make him less skittish? I already have plants and driftwoods as hiding place...maybe too many hiding places for him? should I remove some of the driftwood? or I should add more plants?

I like to go big too, but since I don't have a walkout basement I can only bring up to certain size tank into my basement, 6 or maybe 7ft is the max length.
How big are your caribes now? did you get them from aquascape? they were all sold out last time I went
i got them this summer when they had babys i have 4 and there about 3 inches. all my tanks are going in my garage with insulated garage doors tile and a nice couch to chill, moving big tanks is TUFF!!
