stress coat will work. i would give the tank a lil extra dose when my oscar would run into the filter tube n bang himself up. the aloe in it helps heal the wounds

I wouldn't do anything. My old Cichlids took much worse beatings and healed up quickly with no scar or anything.

He'll be fine. Do as others have said and increase the frequency of water changes and add a little salt if you'd like.

well its been a few days and nothing i can see (fingers crossed) i think it helps he has a huge tank to himself? water is very clean! thanx for all your tips.. hopefully he will recover without ick or anything!!

luckily i havent had to do salt.. yet.. when and if i do, i have to remove my snails. i know they dont like salt just from all i have read :/ sooo i am watching him carefully
