hmmmm.... I'll give it a try... I was gonna put a convict, firemouth, red tailed shark, and some kind of hoplo in the 55... what could I add if i get the 75

Let me just throw this out there, but a 75g is exactly the same dimensions as a 55g but the 75g is 8" wider. And also what makes the 90g even more ideal, it's the same dimensions as the 75g but a few inches taller (i think 3-4"). The main thing that is taking up so much space is the length, and you are fine with the 55g length as far as i can tell so i think a 75 or 90g would be a very go choice for you.

You could get a Chocolate cichlid or a Severum as the centerpiece. Than as the top dweller you could either get 10 Giant danios or 1 African butterfly fish. Than as the mid dwellers, like 1 firemouth, 1 festivum and maybe a Sajica cichlid? Than for the bottom dwellers, a pleco or 3 and a Hoplo. The thing with the 75g, is it's so much wider than the 55g, this opens up so many possibilities. Also, the bigger the tank, the more stable the water is, and the bigger the tank, the bigger the fish grow even if they are small fish. Good luck!

Nice job. I got a bit ripped off on my 55g, whole setup (filters, heater, gravel, rocks, light etc) for 325$ also it included a stand. I really wish i had gone bigger though, if i could go back then with the knowledge i have now, i would get at least a 75g because of the width.
The 75 comes with a stand and hood 
I have a convict growing out in my 20g and my firemouth comes (my lfs ordered it for me) on wedsnday. I think once I get the 75 and the con n firemouth are decent size, I'll get an electric blue jack Dempsey. Sound good?
