An otherwise healthy fish in clean water can recover from some pretty horrible injuries.
I’ve caught fish out of the wild with missing parts but healed.
Glad it recovered.

Just wanted to add that API salt is a rip, much less costly alternatives for next time you require salt. Pretty much any salt from the grocery store will work, they are all sodium chloride. I've used the following for many years. There are even less costly options if one wants to purchase in bulk.

Yes, even iodized. But if it makes you feel better you can purchase non-iodized.
