I don't work for and will never work for oil companies and I'm planning to travel a lot as soon as I'm done with high school and uni and work in different places so I have nothing to worry about.

Thats all peaches and cream but for a country whos sole economic survival depends on oil...once that is gone, everything else goes too.

The UAE knows this and that is why they have spent so much money making Dubai the incredible city it is today.

Look I agree and don't think what Kuwait is doing is right, Kuwait has the ability to do a lot more than it's doing right now and they should get to work but don't make it sound like it's my fault.

Another thing that held us back was war, we had to rebuild Kuwait, it's not all as simple as you think but Kuwait will always be dear to me no matter what happens.

I think you took me the wrong way. I am not talking bad about Kuwait at all! Kuwait is one of the true gems in the region.

I was just pointing out that if your govenerment is really spending so much like you are saying and on a finite supply of income and with out any diverisfication (there might be, Im just speculating) then Kuwait may see some hard times ahead. You guys are also ALOT closer to Iran then Id feel comfortable being and with their ambition of nuclear weapons, Id be digging in deep if I were you!

The government did a lot of wrong things imo, like making us study 15 different classes per semester, what kind of brain can take in all that?

As far as I know Kuwait has saved up some oil money for the harder times, I'm not really sure how it works an all but I don't think they missed out on running low on oil, it would be very stupid of them to.
I think I told you before if Iran plans on something I'm heading to Australia, but they seem to have calmed down now, they've been quiet for some time.

Dont move to Australia! All of the good fish are either banned or too expensive there! Move here!

Im from the South and many people with older homes still have the bomb shelters built during the Cuban Missle Crisis.

I'd be fearing for my life and not fish
No we don't have bomb shelters in our houses.
Which just reminded me of an Australian professor who teaches here in Kuwait, she once said "I love how you Kuwaiti's think you're invincible" which is very true but last time I lived through a bomb I was eating out at a restaurant and didn't even bother moving, I enjoyed the rest of my night like nothing happened.

ive got to admit i quite like our system, NHS for all but private if you want/can. the NHS isnt flawless and it does need upgrading to cope with todays technologies and numbers but overall its a decent system. we do pay quite high taxes for it but its still value for money in comparison to health insurance, especially for someone who is on hefty pain meds and is disabled.
we are not that far behind the US in the obesity stakes either so health insurance would probably cost a small fortune if we went to a system like the US.
