heart shaped parrots

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If these are the true mutation then no problem, although I am not fond of them myself.
Unfortunatly most are surgically modified while young rather than true "sports", the vast majority of the cut fish die and these are the poor survivors. I disapprove. I will not buy them and do not buy from shops that sell them, I let the store know why.

Dunno about you guys, but here in India, these sickening people sell Red Blood Parrots with fake lipstick and also get ur loved one's name tattooed on it! :O How gross is that??! :|
I saw these tonight as a matter of fact, at a new store here- Petland (I have a strong opinion about this store :irked:) They had a big, bright tank up front of their fish section that was full of them. First you see the lipstick, then as you get closer you see the "I (heart) U!" on their sides. Half of them were near dead bobbing on the bottom :irked::irked:. Guppy's right, most of them die. I recently read an article in Freshwater And Marine Aquarium about mutilated, dyed, injected, tattooed fish such as these. It told the ways they are cut with scissors, and throw them back in the tank, and "politely" add some antibiotics. Very informative article that would be nice to hand out at these fish sections!

I don't think they look like hearts, they look like a mutant fish with a huge butt crack.

exactly what i thought!

That's very sad. You should put a post-it note on the tank telling the real story. Considering how neglectful the maintenance at Walmart is, they probably wouldn't even find the note for days. ;-)

hmmmm i might just do this muhahah muhahaha :naughty:

in nz, they just arrived, only 3 arrived in the country as a free sample to see if shops wanan buy
after the biggest fish supplier here refused to buy anymore, they stopped importing them.
but the sad thing is, I HAVE ONE!
i didnt know it was a tail cutting
i thought it was a mutation, i dont see mutations as cruel
like buying a bulldog or pomeranian.... its selective breeding. even arowanas.

but i found out it was tail cropping, im highly against it but too late when i found out
now i just gave the creature a nice home to live its life in.

but i agree, its gross when you think bout it
unfortunately i bought it thinking its a mutation
