My summer rides have been put away since the 24th of August:cry:

The boat is winterized and in a storage facility. The truck is covered up and in the garage...will have to drive it to work on a nice day every month or two to keep the battery charged...we don't get the snow like you do, but it seems to rain about 7 months a year here in the extreme N. Calif...and I have better things to do than washing road splatter off the truck.

I do, too. But in 115+ degree weather, water spots are a horrendous problem. And when we finally make it back to camp after a long day at the lake, the dust has to come off the truck before it can be covered...even if it means washing it in the dark. And I will confess that after we got the new boat last year, I became very dissatisfied with my old truck (it did have 100,000 miles on it) and had to get a new one to match the boat...afterall, my time off is very valuable, and we couldn't have any down time because the old truck developed a problem or something....anyway, that's how I justified my new truck:) In hindsight, though, a light brown boat and truck would have saved us hours of washing and polishing this summer... can't see dirt on brown and water spots wouldn't be as noticeable or matter :)

i know i love black cars and trucks ... just a really nice rich look in my opinion...and i have owned a few because of the look... and definitly hard work keeping it clean and very easy to scratch..due to the paint always has a softness to it.. but wow do they look good..:D

in the frozen north they salt the roads to melt the snow on the roads so the snow plows don't have to work so hard. The salt gets on the cars and it rusts them from the bottom up. no one with a new or newer car or a show car takes it out during the winter.

some folks keep winter beater cars, some just don't drive when there is snow on the ground, or after the first salting.. a lot depends on what part of the frozen north you live in..

i'll stay right here in Southern CA where i can drive my car all year long.

Also, sports cars are terrible in snow

sports cars are bad in any kind of weather.. i keep wondering if they have a purpose at all. going fast in a straight line just doesn't do it for me, i want a car i can go fast in no matter what i'm doing. And of course it has to be able to move big dogs and aquariums with ease also..

can ya tell i drive a truck?

I think it's funny... I find this website and register to ask about a fish question, and my first post is about cars

I have friends that I know through racing that live all over the counrty (and Canada & overseas too) and I think it's funny that living in Texas, its' like the schedule is totally reversed... I don't do much with my old cars in the summer because it's too hot, but I've been getting them out more and more lately because it's getting to be so nice out!!

Here's one of mine :) This is from when I took it to Norwalk for a race
