I can't even describe how f-ing mad I am right now. The stealth heater in my ornate's tank went haywire and cooked him, I came home to find him upside down the temperature in the tank was hot tub temps the heater should not have even been able to go that high. errrrrrrr. I tried to resusitate him for an insane amount of time, to the point of being ridiculous, this has been a terrible month for me with a continuous series of extremely unfortunate events, this being no way near has devastating or serious as the other events, but this was the straw that broke the camels back, for some reason I just couldn't accept his death.

I took the disturbing dead fish pictures and will post them later along with recent pics I took of him. I think I'm gonna bury this guy really liked him.

that sucks, i recently had a stealth start shocking me, i used to think they were almost unfalliable .

I am sorry to hear. I don't use stealth heaters for a reason. Careful with yourself as well, they can BURN!!!

I heard such good things about them I switched from the rena smart heaters (which I never had a problem with) to the stealths. I even stated on this forum how unimpressed I was with the stealth heaters being able to keep a consistent temp. Really could kick myself in the a** on this one. I would not recommend using this heater and have removed another one from my other tank as well.

Sorry to hear about the lose. I understanding the frustration cuz loosing fish is never easy. I switched from Ebo Jager to Stealth Heaters. I have them running for a one year now with no problem. Recently, I have read some bad reviews about Stealth Heaters as well. Marineland products ain't as good as they used to be. Marineland got bought out by Tetratec.

i'm getting clipons and sponges for my coming 29 gallon SW cowfish tank.

It sucks that your Bichir cooked your heater. Sorry for your loss. I guess I've been lucky. I have a lot of Stealth heaters and haven't had any problems in the three years since I bought them. I think I'll go Tronic from now on, though. Love the Tronic.

I know I run 6 stealth heaters the rest hydor or jager. But I run mostly stealth due to the fact everyone on this site loves them! Then since I switched over every third post about stealth heaters someone is claiming their heater shot their father and raped their mother.
