Oh, ok I see how you did it. You used the pvc to just hold the heater not as much to hide it right? I'm looking more to hide it.

You can glue the entire PVC pipe the same way. But why do you want to hide the heater with a PVC pipe which doesn't look any better than the heater. I can understand why you want to shield the heater from distructive cichlids, but it could be overkilling because a secured heater is hard to crack. Most cracking occured due to banging of an insecured heater onto the glass. You can now buy stainless steel or titanium heater that is distruction proof and no need to go through the PVC improvise.
 
ihave 3 heaters.........2 in main tank........1 in sump..........both in tank are 250......single in sump is 150.......
