heating..hmmmmmm?

A 250 watt Stealth is only rated to heat 75 gallons.

I have 7 Stealth 250s heating a pond close to 1K gallons.... Normally only need 4 but needing the temp 90 degrees in the middle of winter I had to add 3 more.

Are they the greatest thing out there? No. Are they one of the cheapest and most reliable? I think so..... I have had a lot of heaters freak out and cook fish but never had any sort of that kinda trouble OR broken heaters from forgetting to unplug them with the Stealths.

But.... I would have DEFINETLY picked up one of the heaters Big Dave posted a link to in a heartbeat if I would have known about them prior to buying Stealths. That's a NICE friggin piece!!!!
 
What do you guys pay for electricity? I think my bar uses ~16 KWh per day just heating.
I have an 800w Finnex heater and it is on almost 24 hours/day.
 
i would deff get a 1000watt and a good controller. then its a done deal with no trial and error.

my 1000 watt works good on my 450 in my cold basement, but i would never go any lower myself...
 
$200 a month for gas and electricity. Guessing probobly 3K watts in aquarium power that runs all the time.

I just ordered one....That thing is awesome. As far as exlectricity goes if you get a good heater such as that one your heater will run way less.
 
Rudy, You HAVE to let us know how that thing works!!!!

I have to pinch pennies for a little while before I can order one but I'm dying to hear how it ends up working out for you.
 
yeah thats a nice heater a lil bit more expected than i would like...nic what do you mena break siphon how do i do that?
 
hey guys what if i buy a cheap 1000 watt heater then an expensize controller?
 
Just pick up 4 stealths and a ranco controller. Don't forget that stealths have lifetime warranties so if one stops working just send it back. Plus if you set the heater thermostats to just above the ranco, if the ranco fails (unlikely) or the probe falls out
it's a double failsafe because the stealths will stop heating.
