Damn bro, good luck. Anything picking on him? I came home to a. Ig male kraussi that was mean as hell bent like that one day, I assumed someone got tired of his crap and rammed him. I'm working on pinima for myself, I hope its not genectic.

you might be able to take him out of the water and "bend" it back in place.. I remember this happened to my clownloach a while back and I did it and it helped a little bit but its up to you. If you think he is swimming fine and eating fine Iwould not worry, it might straighten out a little on its own.

Believe it or not, i put him in a plastic fish bag last week, Took out alot of the water and kinda straightened him out with my hands. Damn fish didnt eat for three days after that. And i dont think it improved... Hehehe thats good though. At least i wasnt the only one who was thinking of it haha

Before when i saw the bend there was a really aggressive kelberi thats been pickin on some other growouts so i took that kelberi out. There might be a chance this guy rammed himself out of proportion, no doubt... I just didnt see it and there was no damage to the head or mouth area that i remember. Good luck on the pinima search. I hope not genetic as well!

Do you guys think the bent spines could be result of genetics, meaning they have so many babies/fry to ensure the survival of the species and the fry born w/ imperfections and deformities would have been picked off by predators? This would leave the STRONG survivors to go on to reproduce in the wild. I don't think all fry would be perfect, especially w/ the size of cichla spawns and what would be picked off by predators in the wild go on to pet shops in the hobby, which could be why we see this...
