I don't know if you can do a variation of this technique with your Aro. But I used to simply corner my oscar and then scoop him out with a clean 10 gallon tank and then add the stuff to the water. After the treatment I would set the 10g across the top of the 55g and quickly transfer him back to the main tank with a towel. If you are quick enough he will be back in the main tank before he reacts.

When you are done, discard the 10g of medicated water and replace it with aged water. I disliked adding medications to the main tank because I was running an undergravel filter and the whole tank would have to be recycled and that's no place for a sick fish.

well it's done..this time she was smoothly picked up, was in the potassium permanganate bath for 20 minutes and back she went to the tank...she is a little dizzy but nothing compared to the first time.

I then dosed the tank with antibiotic ( Nifurpirinol ) and the Bassler formula ( meth blue, malachite and formaldehide ), lights off ( because of the photo sensitivity of the Nifurpirinol )...and now lets wait and see....

2nd treatement is come and gone....

As to to your tecnique, KaiserJeep, it is impossible with this monster......

she was picked up with one of those very large fisherman net contraptions , that you pull out and turn themselves into a tube of net ( the sort of thing fishermen put in the water with captured fish )..it worked perfectly...
