Ok, So here I am.
A few weeks back my daughter brought home a crayfish, and then another and another. I sprayed some insect spray in the room and killed em all. So I went to the store bought a little 10G tank and some crayfish and feeders. That lead to a 30G tank from craigslist which brings me to my newly setup 100G and FX5 I staged this past weekend.
In the course of three months we went from a 2L fishbowl to a 10G tank to the 100 Gallon tank we now have.
Its just too much fun.
So far we have done many things bass-ackwards and are learning a ton about fish, tanks, filters and set-ups. Trial by fire......
I will try to do at least some base research before posting any insanely stupid posts. Well maybe.

:welcome: to mfk.....

Hello and Welcome to MFK :headbang2

Welcome to one of the best addictions, I did the exact thing went from a fishbowl on up.

Pretty soon you'll want to upgrade again ;)

Welcome!

Thanks!
Yea, I am about to start looking at the 150-200 Gallon range.
The worst thing about these darn tanks is they fill up so quickly.
But with that said I imagine every time you start your next new tank you don't make the same mistakes as the previous.
I am sort of wondering how many fish @ the 2" - 3" range can be comfortably housed in a 100 Gallon tank?
The current list is as follows:
1 Ornate Bicher
5 Giant Danios (thought they would be food, might relocate to another tank)
7 Tiger Barbs (Used to cycle tank and now are permanent residents)
3 Green terror ciclids
3 Spotted puffers
2 Electric yellow ciclids
1 Dragon Goby/Dragonfish (who I thought would have been gone by now)
3 Red Crayfish
3 Red Crabs
3 Fiddler Crabs
2 Plecostomas
1 Pictus Catfish
1 Stonefish (Should have just used a stone. This fish never moves)

23 fish and 9 inverts not including snails which keep the puffers from eating everything in sight.
All fish are pretty small but soon will need much more space.
I test my water daily and change out 25G/week with RO purified water.
