Wow, sorry i havent checked here in a while!

This is what Im going to be doing:

I'm purchasing a glasscages.com 180, going to plany it heavily, it will be for a black arowana.

Once the arowana outgrows it I''m going to purchase a glasscages 300 wich will also be planted.

I will then use the 180 for a pair of cobra pike, svenni's, or johanni.
Maybe some SA/CA cichlids, not sure.

I'm in Aberdeen WA btw, An hour away from Olympia washington. I was born in Oregon, lived there until I was four then moved to WA, just thought I'd mention because your from OR.

Cool, I havent been to Ocean shores in a long time, I dont know why.

Glad so see other people from the Northwest!

Yea it's always good to find fellow cichlid lovers in this area. I'd like to head up that way again one of these days.

I'm sure Ocean Shores has changed since I was there in the 80's but back then it was a run down dump. We used to call it Open Soars, lol.

One cool thing did happen when I was there, although I didnt realize it at the time. I ran into Kurt Cobain. Back then I obviously had no idea who he'd become. My cousin and I were making extra money cleaning up resort and hotel parking lots. At one resort there was this long-haired, grungy looking older dude that we had to get our tools and garbage bags from. I wouldn't have even remembered meeting Cobain but my cousin made a comment about how I should kick him in the groin if he ever ends up like that guy. It became a running joke with us till this day. I later found out Cobain worked as a maintenance man at that same resort at the same time. I have no doubt it was him.

So that's my brush with fame in Ocean Shores, lol.

The ironic thing is, my cousin DID end up being just like Kurt Cobain for awhile. Thankfully he got his life straightened out and I never had to kick him in the groin. :D

Haha, We still call it open soars. Open Soars. Scaberdeen, and Wasteport! Man, the Harbor is great.

My sister has meat the drummer from Nirvana a couple times at shows. He still comes to washington every now and again.

Oh, BTW if you have myspace PM me the URL sometime!

hearing your plan for an aro i even more strongly recomend bichirs but i would also get a clown knife awsome fish that probly won't outgrow your 180 but it could but the best thing is thay look awsome at night and thay don't touch plants

Oh, Im not doing a planted now Haha, I changed my mind (Like always!) and am going to do a Black arowana with two motoro stingray, I'm going to use non silica sand as the subtrate (ofcourse) and will place large river rocks about the tank.

hmm sounds awsome but i can't help but notice that you won't have any fish in that tank in 3-4 years mabye some cichlids to grow up and when there adults the aro and rays will be moved
