So one final question I guess. Does anyone on here really think that 2 3-4" armatus will kill each other in a 220? They need to be in there for about 3 weeks. 4 weeks max. I just need to get the 8ft up and running.

probably.
yes.

Man this gets so confusing :irked:
I just saw a 10 Ft aquarium with 2 very large armatus 20+ inches with a GATF which is 24", a 20+" wolf fish and a silver aro which was around 20"..... If those big guyscan be in that tank together, why can't my little 4"ers???
They are a lot more crowded in that 10 Footer than my 2 little guys would be in the 220.

Anyway the one thats coming tomoroow is going in the 20L until I can figure things out lol.

theres other fish in the tank too.
he probably had a few fights when they were younger.

I dunno man, I mean they look absoltuely perfect but it is possible. I have to take people's word when it comes to this because I have never messed with any sabertooth. If it is about RBs or another Piranha I could give some input :( ...... I guess like I said I will stick the one in the 20L and the other 2 int he 220 or one in 220, one 20L, and another in a 20 until I get the 8ft. up. :character0087:.... Well I guess we can all learn a little form my about to be first hand experience.

cant wait to see them.

Keep in mind it is VERY stressfull to be moving them around when young. Get them where they are gonna be and leave them. Thier scales are small and fall out easily.... Go netting them, chasing them, and moving them from tank to tank and you will regret it.The tank with the 2 Armatus is one example... many others have tried and failed. Even that guy has had casulties. Loosing rare expensive fish is far from fun.

Well, my first Armatus has arrived. I am acclimating him as I type. He seems pretty lively. Kinda stop every now and then motionless without gill movement (at least what i can see), but he really shows no signs of stress. (considering his overnight plane ride). I am happy i am putting this guy in a 20L for now. He will have more than enough room. I would say he is about 3". Very basic setup. I will try to get a couple pics up. He def looks Armatus to me. As stated before I have never owned one, but from everything I have seen he looks to be 100%.
Aquascape did a nice job on packing, and the transaction was pretty straight forward.
I agree with not moving them around a lot. I am sure he can almost double in size though before I have to worry about moving him. I will keep the lights out for him and maybe offer him a few guppies around 8PM EST. Will try to put pics on tonight if I can.
Thx for your guys help.

Mine are 3 inches. I had them in a 75 with a divider. They had 2/3 rds of the tank. 3/5 have smashed up faces. Not enough room. 20L? As in 20 litres? 10 gallon? I disagree that size of tank to be "more than enough room" The tank will crash when you add enough feeders to keep the lil guy happy... Unless you have like a 55 gallon sump on it...LOL It may be enough room in your eyes...... But water parameters are going to be all over the place. Good luck. This is my second round with baby Armatus and I made the same mistake as with the first one. If I didn't I wouldn't see smashed up faces. To each his own but next time I know I'll be starting with at least a 75 gallon.
