Help arowana is getting down eye

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I didn't say a poor diet. But maybe its not a natural diet.... if you read my whole post you would have noticed I also said this is what I have HEARD I didn't say that is the for sure cause.
I simply was suggesting options. Also I have not seen every silver in the world, have you? From what I have seen myself yes there is only one silver that did not have droop. I have seen alot more black arows that the eyes were perfectly fine

Just doen't make any logical sense that it would be any type diet. So what you've heard is really not repeating, right?

Nope there is no rhyme or reason to the theory but all I have to say is prove that it isn't the cause...
I can't prove it is the cause and I stated that in my first post.
I don't see a well rounded diet causing any damage to the droop eye, do you? So what's the harm in trying it

Back to my previous point. Your now suggesting that all arowana but one have had a poor diet. Yes poor diet is the opposite of "well rounded". You don't think any silver owners have not fed a proper diet:duh:

That's actually an interesting idea. My silver already has slight DE in one of his eyes. Let us know how that works out. I imagine it would take some time though (months?)

Jus pointing this out but the op asked for suggestions to reverse de... Not causes... But if I would have to pic a cause ited be how they are bread.... Like dalmations were bread so much afyer 101 dalmations came oit that thw breaders atarted inbreading n the pups were ckmmin out all messed up.... I know its not a dog but u get the point... Jus a thought.... As far as fixing it... Idk mine doesnt have it yet lol

That's pretty cool. My silver is nearing 2 feet long and he hasn't developed the dreaded drop eye. When I got him I bought a pack of ping pong balls and threw them in the tank to help him focus his attention upwards. I also gave him a strict diet of floating NLS pellets making sure to not overfeed him. Can't say for sure if it's the little things i've done that helped this one not to develop drop eye, but it worked so whatevers... In actuality it's probably more based upon genetics.

all aros can get drop eye but all dirrerent type have different chance

1 silver nearly all get it
2 asian can get it but not as often as silver
3 black jar and lei not very often at all
4 african aro hardly ever

if you buy a silver then its all most def going to get it if you dont like drop eye spend the extra $$$$$ and get a black
