If the gar doesn't get it right away it seems to ignore it forever. Now the Gar has gotten lazy and wont even chase another fish, it just waits for the shrimp, less work lolRuii;5135320; said:

when u are throwing in floating foods that he accepts, start to toss in other foods u want him to start eating while he is eating what he likes already.. if u feed freeze dried blood worms, then while hes picking away at those, cautiously throw in a small amount of other foods. soon enough your aro will be used ot his tank and will be bold enough ot eat almost anything that touches the surface of the water..Ive fed my past aro's everything! even things they shouldnt have eaten when i had no fish food. that was years ago.. but good luck!
i had the same issue with my small silver arro i just gave him a couple days to adjust then he was eating like champ blood worms and crickets are his fav but he likes small feeders too! the feeder are kinda hard for him to chase right now tho because hes all ways at the top GOOD LUCK!
