Help Building My Dream Tank

Does anyone ever put 3 ac110's on a tank this large. What would 3 of those do on a 150gal? I was thinking 3 spaced out woyld cover the length of the tank and I'm trying to do the math with actual flow rates and it seems that 2-3 ac110's would cover the requirements of a 150gal unplanted tank. Am I on the right track?

Yes there are people who use multiple hob filters. Maintenance and appropriate wc's will be needed.

What is the actual recommendation for filtration as far as the ratio goes, in this case speaking on a well stocked predator tank? I understand gph ratings aren't actually accurate, but it just seems like having 2 fx6 filters on a 150 seems overkill when the mfg rates it for 400gal tanks. Want to do this right, but not go overboard with added maintenance. Thanks

I have sponge filters in all my tanks regardless of what other filtration is on the tank, they also provide aeration

I run two rena XP3 canister filters and an Aquaclear 110 on my 6 foot 150g. the Renas are super old now (one from 2006, one from 2008) but they are still running.
