Mike, that setup is PERFECT exactly what I've been looking for!!
Questions:
1: What size is that tubing?
2: I have a 150 gallon and I want to produce around 100 gph total, and where your two go into one I want to go back into two since I have a double drawer setup so what size tube do you think I should go with?
thanks A LOT!
I went with 2" into 3". I believe the Video is 1 1/2" into 2". My slant on this was that I wanted my Overflow to run without regard for my pump. So if I wanted to do 100GPH 2"-3" would be fine. If I wanted to do 300GPH I was still in a safe zone. I will eventually be running a Mag Drive 12, and a 9.5 on my tank w/ 2 spray bars. And based on the DIY Pipe Selection sticky my Overflow should be able to out run even that much flow.
As for 2-1-2 I would just leave it 1 size into a larger size. Everything after the increase in size should stay at the increased size. No reason to restrict the flow down the line after you sped it up.
Right on, you're making this so much easier for me
In regards to my setup, I meant I am going from the two overflows "T'ing" into one and then the one "T's" into two. The two pvc's then go to two seperate filtrations which are in the same pump. So really it is "2-1 and then that 1-2"
When you say you went 2-3 inch, does that mean where your two overflows connect is that where you went from two inches to 3 inches? THANKS!

Exactly, My T was 2" inlets and a 3" output, I kept all plumbing below the T at 3" So If I was doing what your suggesting I would Split the 3" pipe to 3" pipe. But I wouldn't do that anyhow, I'd run the 3" pipe to one 4" Filter Sock.
Thats some heavy duty plumbing right there!! I'm gonna get started on mine tonight, hopefully I stay to cutting the pvc and not my finger! haha
pictures to come

Alright so heres an update.. Got started on the PVC overflow a little bit ago
I know I havent drilled the valve on top, and I haven't glued it yet to get everyones opinion, but I've made a few of my own modifications, let me know what you think I won't be offended
1. Instead of using 90* elbos, I decided to use the street elbos I think it will increase my flow and stay smooth.. Opinions?
2. You can see my "Tee" is the one that is angled to the middle (I'm hoping this will increase flow)...?
3. I haven't bought the "tee" that joins the two overflows because I cant find a "tee" pipe at my local home depot that goes from 2"-2"-3"
