How do i start the syphon on my pvc overflow? we cant find out how to make it syphon water faster... its sucking in the tank water and pushing it out very very slowley.. and my pump is pushing it out faster than its comming in... its a 75g tank. with a 655gph pump.

its the one i've ben working on, i got the3 check valve and everything on right its just pushing it out slow

Nvm close this i got it working :) we thought it was gona overflow and bam it kicked in and is doing great, i just wish the tank had no sand in it.. Its flying EVERYWHERE lol :)

hook an airline tube up to the check valve suck on it to make sure you have all of the air out of it.

Heh, thats what i was gona do, But we lost the airline tube. We ended up jamming the pump hose into the overflow, so that it pushed water into the tubes, and getting rid of the extra air..

Everything is good to go, 1week of the w/d setup with old filter media and a cycled filter on the tank and ill be good to get some Pbass :)

put rocks or what ever you have under the pump return to deflect the water. I have quartz crystals in one tank and a fake plant in the other. They both work well.

Its got sand, lots of fake long plants, and a giant peice of driftwood and some stones. its for my Pbass :)

Move some of your stones to the area that the sand is getting washed up. It will divert the flow so it does not kick up the sand. Below is a pic of the corner of my knife tank. The quartz crystals break up the flow to the point that there is no sand movement.
