this is ridiculous.... your gonna burn out in the hobby quick if your only interest seems to be watching feeders get eaten. I got at least a dozen fish that would demolish feeders and they have never seen one. But since you asked a senegal bichir would last a while in there. please vary his diet though.

I agree with tcarswell..I have quite a few aggressive cichlids ( 8" Jag, 8" Tilapia, 10" JD, 7" Texas, 6" Festae) that would and will tear the crap out of just about anything I were to introduce to their tanks....but I choose to not do that..my goal is to raise beautiful fish and enjoy the challenge of keeping aggressive cichlids without getting any killed...and I have never fed any of my fish anything bigger than fry size...convict fry...

Same here... pellets, veggies, fillets, worms, crickets, and frozen here.

Exactly I mean there are exceptions to the rule but not with any fish kept in a 29 gallon for life. Tigerfish needle fish etc fish where 99% of their natural diet is live fish and they wont accept anything else. But if they accept alternatives its a lot healthier and easy and much more disease preventing to offer better quality foods. Goldfish are full of bones and all kinds of nasties. My goal is to raise my fish as healthy and naturally as possible and I do not see it as necessary to feed my monsters live just because they simply can :grinno: (I have no objection to doing so morally its just not necessary for me to do so currently.

we are not trying to beat u down but teach you the basics of fishkeeping and you have to be receptive of that
why dont you start off with some hardy beginner fish, and once you get the basics down then you graduate to bigger and better
what is the filtration for this tank? how often do you plan to do water changes? is it cycled yet?
start off by answering those questions and if you have questions we are happy to help, as long as you are willing to be helped

Here is a good website that helped me informed on some of my fish knowledge. Note some of his housing facts are wrong. Example he says oscars can live a 30g, which is incorrect. http://aqualandpetsplus.com/

lol uh oh. Glad you pointed out that was incorrect. I wonder when people say things like that if they have seen any of the 13-14" oscars that are really common.
