I think my female red terror is egg bound. But I'm not 100% sure. Can anyone confirm this and know how to cure? She is currently in a 125g with her breeding partner. I have started a salt treatment since I read it could help with her absorbing the eggs.

Oh dear.
By salt treatment you mean epsome salt baths right? That is really the only thing I know to help them.
I've read more about koi being egg bound then cichlids. With koi you can manually help them expel their eggs along with epsome baths. I'm not comfortable that, so I'd stick to the 15min bath everyday till she improves.

Correct epsome salt treatment. I treated my entire 125g tank with salt. Hopefully this will help her

Treatment in main tank is fine, and IME effective in most cases. Works for rectal prolapse as well. Good luck.

If you can devide her in the tank or separate her so the other fish won't nip at her insides while she recovers.

Update. After two days of salt treatment. I didn't see much improvement. I decided to try and help my female RT expel the blockage. Upon trying to do so, I notice that nothing was coming out when I squeezed on her blockage area and it felt kind of hard. I then removed the blockage area by cutting it off. It's been 3 days now, she's back to eating and pooping normally. I just hope it doesn't prevent her from spawn. She's a proven breeder. I've attach a picture of her. Notice the blockage area is completely removed.

Wow .. brave move .. sounds like good news if she's back to eating !

I have to agree with Tomt37. Brave move and I hope it doesn't have any negative effects. That's good she's eating and expelling well again. Let us know if she spawns again.

Hopefully, it's the right move. She wasn't eating and was motionless at the bottom so I felt like I needed to do something fast or I'll lose her. I think she'll be okay now since she's eating and active again. I'm only concern now is if she can spawn again. Time will tell.
