Help figuring out plumbing for my 180

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Good stuff thanks. I’ve looked into it and could only find a huge sheet of it. I’ll try again or just bite the bullet on buying the larger sheet. When I turn my pump back on I’m noticing the first pit of water/air that gets pushed out has debris in it. How often do folks clean their return lines? I have vinyl going from the pump to the bulkhead. I’ve cleaned the rigid pvc after the bulkhead and that didn’t change anything so i assume the buildup is in the vynil

If you dont mind no light through the lids I'd look at just .25" marine board in any color. Will never warp and last forever. You can attach handles or drill small holes to lift.

I don't know man I wouldn't be too concerned with elbow causing clogs. your going to have a strainer on your standpipes.

has some myth busting link on the difference between 90 and 45 elbows

BRS actually did tests with schedule 40 45* vs 90* and did make of a difference as far as returns.

OP, I run 1.5" from my pump outlet and split with T before eventually leading to two returns with loc-lines. Something to consider since you were looking for ideas.

Yeah I think it looks pretty good as well.

Yeah I was trying to decide if I should tee it off or not. The only reason i am considering not tee it off is I noticed a huge difference when I shortened my spraybar on another set up allowing for fast flow the tank was almost crystal clear compared to it being okay before I did this but anyway I’ll probably tee it off anyway just to have both sides moving

I think it looks great. Nice and clean. How much did it cost ya ?
It was a 26”x 96” sheet for $21.99 at Lowe’s. It would have been easier if i didn’t have some super dull dollar store scissors to cut it with. I whipped out a razor blade and it made it a little easier. Thanks though. Hopefully it helps keep the evaporation down. It’s extremely bad right now with us running the heat lol. My son as a 90-100 gallon humidifier in his room right now lol
