Currently have a 75g with only a Marineland penguin 350
Already know I need another filter but what should I go with??

Housing a 7 inch female Jaguar, 3 inch flowerhorn, 4 inch black belt cichlid and 2 fire eels

Not looking to spend an enormous amount. Moreso interested in what type of filter? Another penguin?
A canister filter, or a sponge filter

depends...what size tank are you going to put those fish in after the 75?

go with a canister, a large one. you are gonna have some big fish in the 75 sooner rather than later. p.s. theres no maybe, those fire eels will need a larger tank, and you may have aggression issues as the cichlids grow too. Not trying to preach, just giving the heads up.

Jaguar, Flowerhorn and blackbelt cichlid in 75G tank...All I'm seeing is a major issue with territorial, even after upgrade to 125G.
For filtration I would add a canister because those fish are heavy bio load, would be best if you buy something that you can use on 125G if you plan to upgrade.

Well black belt i am in the process of removing 100% asap.
I would like to keep the flowerhorn and jaguar in the tank for the time being if possible.

My 40g is comprised of a 5inch male JD and three 1-2 inch female JD, only temporarily until i can find a suitable female. And that tank will stay with just 2 JD

How fast will the eels grow? And i was hoping to keep it as just the flowerhorn + jaguar + 2 eels in the 75g for the next possibly 4-6 months until i have the money and space to upgrade to a 125 or even bigger.
