if there is alot of poo in the gravel your nitrate levels shouldnt be at 0. I would try vacuuming out the gravel , then rinse out all your filter parts (sponge, carbon, etc...)
then let cycle for a day and recheck water

Thanks. Thats exactly what im doing now. I'll let you know how it goes

i have been looking on forums...apparently it could be Ich or Velvet that is causing these deaths...

anyone know anything about these diseases?

Yes ich is a very common and deadly disease in aquariums idk if ur pet shops have ich away or anything like that. Raise the temp up in ur tank and treat with some ich medicine ask ur lfs which is the best type (in there opinion) now u have to watch out with tetras and other small fish it should say on the back to use a lower dose and how much to use

Good luck I hope ur fish get better

I don't see anything that suggests ich or velvet... The skinny fish you described suggests internal parasites. I would consider metronidazole both in water and in food, it is broad range enough to treat a variety of diseases.

Why are you assuming ich or velvet? Are there any white spots or goldish fuzz/flakes on the fish? Anything abnormal at all? That pleco almost looks like it had a bacterial infection, but it could look like that simply from being dead a while.

Op in reference to this, if it was ich, you would be able to see tiny little white spots on your fish... do you see anything on their bodies that is out of the ordinary?? could even be lumps or bumps...

Edit: Oops my bad, I didn't see Jeff's post right before me...
