Help - Green Terror has strange eruption on head

Yeah that would do. Whole point is to add some garlic to entice eating. Garlic has other benefits as well, but that's a diff topic....

If you have 24 tabs, that should be enough to last you over 14 days if you are just adding to food. After the 14 days of treatment start soaking the food in epsom salt (dissolve epsom salt in water and soak food) -- some swear by this (including myself). Check this thread -- very interesting to say the least with all dosage/directions.

so metro for 14 days then the epsom salt only, or mix the epsom salt with the metro?

I have read that thread, but i couldnt understand if this was to be used as a monthly treatment for parasite control, or an actual treatment for Hex?

Yes the first part. Do not mix.

Epsom salt can be used both to treat & use as a preventative as it is "harmless" to the fish. It is a "natural" method/approach without the use of medicine.

Epsom salt and garlic is a great combination the addition of vitamin C also adds the healing process. This is an excellent holistic approach.

I suggested metro because it easy already available and is quite efficacious. It's a simple tried and true way to cure the problem and is easily administered. I try to give advice using the easiest method with the most readily available medications to make the process as simple and as effective as possible. Of course I am fully aware of other meds other approaches and other schools of thought. My suggestions are based on what is available (the op already had Metro) and will get the job done quickly and with the least amount of stress on the fish and the hobbyist.

Guys I dint know much about this but I appreciate the help.

Would it be beneficial to get him out the tank before he passes this to my other fish?

Bare in mind I dint have any other tanks, I'm just worried that 1 fish is going kill everything in the tank

You could but I agree with framcosco the least amount of additional stress the better. Just do a good substrate vacuming with the water changes and continue treating as you are doing.

I have sand substrate, so I was thinking to remove all ornaments from the tank (there are only 2 terracotta pots) but a lot of poop gathers around them....shall I remove them so all the poop gathers in one place?

If it's only 2 pots go ahead if it makes it easier or you could just move them and vac what ever's eaiser.
