nothing sticking out, its like the scales themselves have rounded, there arent edges sticking up

i have to say its hard to say what it is unfortunately.
does it seem to get worse? if not and if the bichir's doing fine and all, i suppose you should just wait and see if it goes away, keep the water clean etc. if however you really feel like medicating, i'd treat it like a bacteria (or perhaps parasite) infection. but like i said if the bichir's fine and it's not getting worse, leave it alone for the moment. good luck

yeah, he seems to be doing fine, its not getting worse, ive just been treating with melafix and watching
