Ive had Lunchbox Norm for about 11 months now. had him from a lil guy. I had him in a 65g and at around 8" it was time to move him to my 100g. He was acting depressed. Sittin in the corner and not really acting right. He was eating fine with no physical problems other than being sad. So, I move him into the larger tank and he has done nothing but sit in the corner. I added a couple of Africans to perk him up. And it did for a bit. Now, he's back to the corner. Doesn't react to his mirror anymore. Still eats great though. I think I may sell him to a larger home. I DONT want to, I just want the best for him. I am sure the "check your parameters" statement will come up. Trust me I have and they are fine. Think this is just a mental thing. Should I add a large parrot??

He definitely looks very stressed out, compared to your avatar photo it barely looks like the same fish. I'm not sure what a larger tank would accomplish, a 100 gallon tank is plenty big enough for a single FH.

I'm not sure what the solution is, I've moved my FH around and never had any type of stress issues. Hope things improve.

I seem to remember that Norm has been giving you worries for some time already, hasn't he?
Hope he recovers once again.

Too bad you won't send him my way, I would treat him like a king.

Find him a large female parrot or a large female flowerhorn. Or you could try raising the the pH, is your around 6.6? Have you tried deparasiting him?

I see a problem look at his gills admin. I remember someone online had this something in the gill was sticking out. Something with a prolapse or somthing.

yeah i see the gill bulge try keeping temp around 85 for a while and add some aquarium salt also some pimafix wouldnt hurt do this to rule out desease

Hmm, he acted like this since you moved him into the 100 gal isn't it? What was the original set up like in his 65 gal? Water temp and pH level?

After clicking on your pic, and taking a close look at the enlarged image it does look like he has some kind of growth coming out of his one gill cover. If that is a cyst, or tumour, his days may be numbered.

He is gorgeous. i hope you find some answers.
