HELP! How much longer can i keep them toether???? (SHANE L@@K)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
shame howard.....it sound like testings of stength to me aswell,my oscars often do this, you will have to keep a eye on things....maybe try seperating tank with a glass pane devider....when you see them digging pits and cleaning rocks then try releasing them,,,,change around rocks and wood aswell,,,,got to exsept cichlids aggro now and then,,,,,hope itll work out

It would be a shame if the X-jag's lips/mouth were damaged. I agree with the previous posts to have a divider ready if you see them getting too rough. At least he's the bigger of the two. Maybe you'll have a new batch of eggs soon, good luck.

get the divider ready once scales start flying you better divid them and give them a break from each other

ok well ill seperate soon, i wouldnt worrie about the xanthic taking to much beatings, he's a tough un.

Jags are not as easy as they say to keep/breed lol
seperate for a while, she will not be able to lay for a
little bit yet, try again in a few weeks, she did only lay
a huge spawn what? less that 3weeks back
(somethink like 18 days ago) she will not be ready to
lay and he will

Yeah he looks like a brute !!!

Just curious mbuna, what size tank are they in ? I don't think i've ever seen a FTS of your tank, or specs.

since Jag's are in the same basic family as wolf cichlids ... this might help ...

my dovii were fighting a bit, but not real bad.

I (so far) have been able to curb their attitude with each other by giving up sacrificial lambs for their aggression.

What I am doing is keeping room mates in with them ... GOLD FISH ...

they eat about 1/2 of what they kill but they target the gold fish instead of each other.

BUT .... my dovii are still young (not breeding yet) - it might not work in your situation.
