 Hello peeps i'm a newb taker of a 3 discus!

I just recently bought 2 new discus, however I already have 1 discus from a different pet store...
Now the problem is...
the first discus that I got is trying to pick a fight w/ my 2 other new discus?!
I don't know what to do?
Are they gonna be friends?
Or kill each other?

please let me know asap! tnx!

by the way the new discus I bought is already eating the first discus I bought is still not eating for like 4 days now!
please help me!
I dunno what to do??? tnx:(

Relax.....

Discus are cichlids (Yes, they are probably the mildest of cichlids, but nonetheless, they are still cichlids). With that being said, anytime you add a new discus you will have the pecking order re-established. They will be just fine, just give them a week or so. As for one not eating...Don't be alarmed. I have 70+ discus, and let me tell you....Sometimes it will take several weeks for one to settle in and eat...I actually have a 7" Pigeon Snake that just went about 6 weeks without eating (It would peck at the plants and decorations, but wouldn't feed like normal)....She started eating again about two weeks ago and is doing great. They will fast occassionally....Don't worry about it...Keep me posted.

rearrange the plants/rock/deco in the tank, and do a small partial water change... but like oshp said, they are still chiclids and its bound to happen

Do you own a book on discus?

Do you have a tank you can seprate them with?

Also how large is the tank you are keeping them in?

Chances are you may have to wait til heirarchy is established.

Well your instinct worked out really well :D

Please buy a book. The internet is an excellent resource. Though obviously for you it hasn't quite panned out that way yet. I believe you will receive excellent info here :)

Though Even the experts here will in my opinion suggest that you should get a book :)

www.undertheamazon.com has a little write up on your initial needs.. You should check that out too.. It's Kory's site and he is a vendor here.:)

Until you can get some bonafied research under your belt you might want to invest in a tank seperater at the LFS they are not expensive. This way you can stop the violence that is currently going on.
