Bluegill/Sun fish... yeas you can use salt on almost any fish excluding loaches, knifes, and spiny eels, bichirs.

Nope not a Bluegill. It's a Green Sunfish. And Bichirs have scales and therefore salt doesn't hurt them.

Sunfish love nightcrawlers, waxworms, and Guppies, FYI.

I'm pretty sure that's not how that works, but you're right that bichirs won't be hurt by a little salt. Most freshwater fish won't, regardless of scales...but some that don't tolerate salt do have scales.

Nice fish. He should acclimate ok. Just give him feeders, worms/grubs, crickets and pellet food for a varied diet and he'll do good.

Umm how do I make him eat soon? He still laying on the gravel ... so I'll give him a week or what?

i have one and it will eat everything. feeders, worms, pellets, flakes. it ate on the first day after a caught it so idk.

He is probably stressed, leave the lights off for a day and try not walking by the tank a lot.

THAT is a green sunfish? I have caught thousands of those things and NEVER seen one that had a protruding jaw like that. Sure it's not some weird rockbass hybrid or something? COULD be geographical dif but to me it looks like a dif species or a hybrid.
