I know it will be a while, but won't that tig outgrow your tank eventually anyway? Better to lose it now than in another year or two when you are even that much more attached to it.

You're not making this any easier hahaha. I love my Dovii.

I can only imagine, when I first did the reply I quoted Nic's "bye bye dovii" and had a long explanation as to what was best to do.:screwy:

Then I came to my senses erased it all and went with keeping the dovii:nilly:

wow balton i thought i'd never hear the day you were thinking about getting rid of your dovii. you're known for your amazing dovii haha. but i'm sure that's not helping at all. the question is if you get rid of your tig what cat would you get that would stay in the size range for your tank? as for the dats and grammy.. you have an amzing grammy but if he isn't that personable and the dats are i'd stick with the dats and get something that's more personable. maybe a rtm, escondido or something, idk.

#1. Just get the dovii a girl and get rid of the rest (it's going to happen eventually anyway!). Dovii pairs usually form very good bonds once their reproductive cyles are matched up. Be careful at first.

#2. Get a Panaque type of cat, and add lots of cover (driftwood, etc.) that the dovii can't penetrate. The cat will be mostly active at night anyway.

#3. Send the grammodes to me!

Just because fish survive with others doesn't mean they're not under terrific stress, so you are wise to be planning now.

I'd definately get rid og the Dovii and Grammodes. The other fish you have are much more expensive and much more rare. Plus you are going to end up with nothing but a Dovii in the long run. Tigs are awesome and so are dats. Get rid of the aggressive stuff and find some psittacus or something else cool to keep with your other fish.

The Grammodes isn't very personable and he's not a good community fish either. I think I may sell him first. My Dovii has amazing personality and gets a lot of attention from everyone and he gives it right back. And not to sound conceded about him but he's also one of the better looking Dovii I've seen. One thing he has going against him is I didn't raise him from a fry unlike most of the fish I own. That always makes me more attached to a fish.

The rarity is one of the things that attracts me to my other fish. I bought the Dats long before ever even thinking of owning a Dovii and raised them from like an inch and a half to their current size. I got the Tig as an F0 juvie and grew him up too. I'm really attached them and don't want to see them go but it's not fair they're being picked on. I believe eventually the Dovii will kill the Tig so something has to be done soon and I'm leaning towards keeping the Dovii.

You want my Grammy? I have a female too that will go when he does since I'll have no use for her. I've never shipped before but maybe I could try. The Dats should be ok for some time with the Dovii because he doesn't even blink at them. Maybe I can put the Tig in the Festae tank until I find a taker. I'm pretty sure I don't want a poop machine Panaque.
