I think you're doing the right thing getting rid of the Dovi and Gram. You can have a really nice community tank with lots of activity as opposed to having just a couple fish fighting all the time. I've gotten rid of most of my aggressive fish and have really mellow tanks and if a fish is causing trouble he goes.

Actually I'm trying to keep the Dovii for now.

I started thinking what if I put the Tig and 3 Dats in the 156g. All the cichlids-the male & female Grammodes, the pair of Festae, and Dovii-could go in the 265g. Would that be too risky?

That's what I did today. All the cichlids are together and already trying to establish dominance. The female Festae and male Gramodes have been liplocking for for a while now. I hope they form their hiearchy and can live together without anyone getting killed. I guess we'll see....wish me luck.

The male Festae who used to bite at the Dovii with no ill response has gotten his @$$ handed to him when he tried to pull that stunt again. The Dovii is having nothing to do with those shenanigans anymore hahaha.

I already had to put them back. No deal. The Dovii is a KILLER now. Not his mellow self he used to be not too long ago. My gut instinct told me it couldn't last forever. Too bad.
