HELP I think I'm an over feeder!!!!

2 times a day is plenty, and as Chicla mentioned, fast 1 day a week. Fasting is good for them believe it or not. They may beg like crazy, but believe me they wont starve in a day.
 
i too am starting to feed only once a day and fasting after water changes.

i've had a really bad habit of overfeeding but i think i'm ready to be more responsible now ;)

Same here!!! I am trying my best to just not pay attention to his glass banging begs!!!!!

simply man i have one feeding time a day for my big fella, than through the day if i feel like it il throw him a freeze dried kill or 2 and a "treat"... but only feed him once in the a.m a meal of "somepellets,flakes,blood/blackworms" i try and keep his diet as balenced as possible, but he knows the krill, is simply a treat.......

Thats what I'm going to do....I wish he would take frozen krill....it's the only thing he wont gulp up!!!!He love those frozen hikari bloodworms though!(I wonder why he wont eat the krill????)
 
Have a staple food...I use Hikari Koi Staple....balanced and cheap. Feed no more than twice a day for sure cause you can easily kill your fish that way. You end up polluting your water also and this isn't a good environment for a flowerhorn, especially if you want his head to pop out. Just a little pinch in the morning and at night and that's it.
