Have a staple food...I use Hikari Koi Staple....balanced and cheap. Feed no more than twice a day for sure cause you can easily kill your fish that way. You end up polluting your water also and this isn't a good environment for a flowerhorn, especially if you want his head to pop out. Just a little pinch in the morning and at night and that's it.

at the end up the day everyone has there own method of feeding for there tanks, and all oyu need to do is find what method works best for you...
 
I agree with bigdaddymagnum find out what works for you. I feed my fish twice or three times a day flakes in the mourning pellets afternoon then a treat a night.Everyone has diff ways or doing things me and my buddy both bought red devils both around the same size his feeding method was diffrent then mines and in a lil over a month my fish was almost two inches bigger and we both had males with a hump on there head.He feed his once day and i didnt my fish didnt always have a huge stomach when he was done eating so just find out whats work for you and what makes you and your fish happy.
