Thanks you guys for all the helpful information. I’m really grateful to have found this website. Only knew two with these fish and both of them are Indonesia. I thought I read somewhere to start them in a smaller tank like a 55 gallon because since they are wild you have to let them get adjusted to being in a tank. But I could be wrong about what I read. This just means I can start building a tank before the fall. Don’t get me wrong I want the best for these fish, that’s why I’ve been ask everyone here who talks abt them what are the grow rate.

I agree with Moe. One. Or if a group, it should be a huge tank; and better a pond, or a round tank. If you don't mind losing many ATF, you could try your way; it's kind of cruel going into it being advised they would kill each other but I've done the same thing (more or less) and learned painful and expensive first hand experience.
I read somewhere that the young tiger fish stay close to shore. is this wave maker too powerful For them in a 55 gallon tank? I know they very skittish and are young and don’t want them getting too scared and hitting the glass. This is What I got now in the tank

There is no consensus on the flow strength and the success of raising ATF. I'd read Chicxulub's stickie on the ATF. He addresses the flow there. I'd also perform a forum search as this question comes up every now and then. A well pointed powerhead would surely increase aeration, which is beneficial to ATF. I think the 400 may be fine for a 55 gal. I used 1200 on 240 gal.

After think abt this issue a little more I will be moving my tigers to the 150 gallon tank. I had to restart the tank couple weeks ago. I have three small African cichlids in there now. Thanks again guys!

I would advise against the flow. Some keepers report with flow they overcompensate for swimming fast and hit the glass much more.
