Both can keep the pattern so that's another way that people use to ID that is not 100%
The only one that has the I guess you can call it U shape teeth is the l-27 "xingu" the rest all have V shaped teeth even other l-27's
Im not a fan of grading fish. No offense but that's an east Asian thing. IMO more of a marketing scheme.
Your fish was worth the money and your fish is beautiful.
I will say it again be proud of it![]()
:/ both 418 and 191 can keep markings ?
see the markings of 418 here: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/image.php?species=panaque+titan&image_id=8230
and the markings of 191 here: http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/image.php?species=panaque+sp(l191)&image_id=8314
and my specimen has it closer to the one of 191.
U are spot on. I live in South-east Asia and is stuck in this stupid marketing scene, which probably serves no good except to jack up prices.
i am personally not bothered by whether its 191 or 418. but i just wanna be sure about it so that i know i paid the right price for the right thing. and serves me well when i exhibit my "418". cause its a common problem that people pay a 418 price while getting a 191 here. i dont wanna be a silly victim
