Wow really. If u dun mind can u share the source of this information? I noe for a fact tht theres alot of bichir being bred over here but honestly haven heard anything about a pbb hybrid here and i knew some of the bigger breeder and exporter. This is very interesting indeed. Are pbbs being bred over there in japan?

Sent from my GT-I9300 using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

i kinda want an indo pbb now haha. maybe a short body

Better off paying the same money for a decent WC LAP IMO.
Though I admit I did buy a bunch of these when they first hit our shores.
Of the 4, 2 died in transit, 1 never grew I ended up giving away, and the last got swallowed by my big Ornate!
LOL I wish I would have kept the one that didnt grow now.

All 4 had wonky fins, uneven body shapes and just seemed "fragile" for some reason.

TGM, your post last year about the IPBBs being the offspring of Turkana x Chad caused many to believe this was true!

Yup, I thought it was true too. Along with most Enthusiasts.
Only when Big-in suddenly took them off their site along with Aqua-art, then Aqua Bonito talk started!

Sadly, thats what happens when sought after fish are bred in captivity. Why WC is always the way to go.

Personally it makes no difference to me. They are (IMO) low quality and low priced, so noone looses out really.
At the end of the day info is still sketchy, full of gossip on the scene (at least here in Japan) nothings set in stone.
They could be true blood, but lets face it do they look it? And a few people that are (or at least were) involved in the program saying otherwise I think buyers should be aware befor laying down too much money or hopes.

Haha.. Agreed. The stubby snout of the IPBB just drives me away actually. Oh btw, speaking about Aqua Bonito, what happened to them? Is the site down or something?

Yeah Aqua Bonito are a bricks and mortar store now.
I think their online business stopped long ago.
Kind of cool shop, but a little pricey, and they are famous for making up species names... (e.g. Channa Ornatipinnis in their store is labeled as "Channa sp. Blue Mountain")
