Good Job researching what the fish need before you buy them.

depends. i've seen some RD's live perfectly fine alongside other fish. and i've seen numerous threads where a RD/midas annihilated everything in it's tank for no reason. the latter happens more often than not. it will kill what it can. theyre awesome fish...but they are seriously mental when it comes to aggression. it takes them awhile to become the red devil in attitude, but eventually it does happen. like cacichlids said up there about "puberty". lol the phrase goes around here "they don't call it a red devil for....." you get the idea. don't put anything with him that you care about, because you may not see it living in the morning.

no problem! good luck with the little monster!

It will be more like a slaughterhouse once he hits puberty lol

Haha it was like that for me years ago!

He could have been a bit more tactful but honestly its not going to work, not even for a little while so the original poster is better off knowing this early on.

i had a devil a few years ago, he was all sooky when he went into the tank, then inside of 2 days he killed 2 12 inch black belts and was destroying everything in his path. unfortunately he got a wierd fungusy sort of disease and died about 6months later, everything else was fine after that so it was really strange. definitely want to get another one tho ... but yeah, those fish in that tank definitely not a good long term plan.
